Located in the northern part of the Island of Faial, in the Cedros parish, CASA DO CAPITÃO sits on a charming rural area, an authentic oasis of peace and tranquillity. It encompasses two houses, made of volcanic rock, which remain faithful to the traditional architecture of Faial, and are surrounded by gardens, farming fields, threshing grounds, fruit trees and pastures. The houses date back to the end of the 19th century, and underwent large renovations. The old exterior appearance was kept while the interiors were renovated in order to offer all the standards of comfort of modern day life. Visitors are greeted by the owner at the main house, where breakfast is served every morning. During breakfast the owner is happy to answer any questions about the island and will share special tips on the sites to visit. For more detailed information, a mini-library with a variety of books about the Azores in different languages is available. From the house, there are many inviting trails which meander through the green fields of the island offering gorgeous views of the Graciosa, S. Jorge and Pico Islands.
Five spacious double rooms, with private bath, decorated with a country flare but attentive to the details and comfort will make your stay a memorable experience.
